**Cobb County Government** is hiring a **GIS Specialist** to join its team in Marietta, Georgia. The position focuses on managing and analyzing geospatial data to support public services and departmental operations.
**Responsibilities:**
- Create presentation-quality maps using ArcGIS and cartographic design principles.
- Analyze and integrate various types of geographic data; generate digital reports and statistics.
- Perform map-related calculations including parcel identification, acreage determination, and deed auditing.
- Conduct mapping tasks: digitization, line cleaning, topology building, data conversion, and quality control.
- Maintain and update geospatial databases from sources like GPS, surveys, legal records, imagery, and field notes.
- Provide customer support, process parcel forms, research data requests, and generate maps for internal and public use.
- Support GIS schema updates, database presentations, and the design of department-specific datasets.
- Collect project-specific data using GPS or remote sensing and ensure data integrity across systems.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
- High School Diploma or GED, plus vocational/technical training in GIS or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in GIS data maintenance or similar responsibilities.
- Valid Driver’s License.
**Preferred Experience:**
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- Understanding of GIS principles, spatial databases, and customer interaction.
- Experience with data editing, map creation, and geospatial quality control.
**Job Type:** Full-time
**Pay:** $22.15 – $28.24 per hour
**Location:** On-site in Marietta, GA
