**Estimated Base Salary Range:** USD 108,160 – 180,960
**Overview:**
As an established thought leader within the transportation industry—specifically ports and maritime—you are motivated to make connections that enable organizations to work smarter and achieve higher impact. As a GIS Industry Solutions Manager for Ports, you will develop and oversee the execution of global go-to-market strategies to drive growth in new and existing markets within the transportation domain, with a focus on ports and maritime. Your objective is to drive awareness and demand by positioning Esri GIS technology as uniquely suited to address existing and emerging industry challenges and opportunities.
You will collaborate closely with teams across business development, corporate marketing, professional services, solutions, and software development to align industry trends with Esri technology for current and future demand.
**Responsibilities:**
- Represent Esri as the subject matter expert in the ports and maritime market, including expertise in:
- Port and terminal operations
- Berth planning and scheduling
- Vessel traffic management systems
- Environmental compliance and management
- Security management
- Dredging operations
- Inter-agency coordination
- Port business systems
- Position Esri as a thought leader in the port and maritime industry through:
- Participation in industry association committees
- Presentations at industry conferences and events
- Forecast and evaluate industry trends using diverse data sources and proactively develop solutions and messaging to address key business drivers and growth opportunities.
- Develop, manage, and execute a comprehensive global marketing strategy for the ports and maritime domain.
- Develop and execute both short-term and long-term industry marketing plans and programs to support the GIS user community and expand GIS adoption in the transportation industry.
- Share competitive intelligence and customer requirements with Business Development teams to improve effectiveness.
- Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and market factors to identify service and market opportunities.
- Investigate and develop new business opportunities in underserved or emerging areas of the port and maritime market.
- Develop and recommend product positioning, marketing collateral, and pricing strategies to support sales and revenue goals.
- Act as a customer advocate with Product Development teams, providing industry feedback based on direct engagement with transportation customers.
- Work closely with sales teams, international division regional managers, and Esri international distributors to provide domain expertise, contacts, guidance, and support.
- Collaborate with business partners to recruit, develop, and maintain partner channels for solution delivery in the transportation sector.
- Represent and manage Esri’s presence at port and maritime industry conferences, trade shows, seminars, and events worldwide.
- Build and maintain a strong GIS user community through printed materials, e-newsletters, online forums, user groups, and networking initiatives.
- Advocate for the use of GIS technology with transportation-related trade associations (such as AAPA, IAPH, TRB), standards organizations, and the media.
**Requirements:**
- Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated leadership and hands-on experience in a transportation discipline focused on ports and maritime.
- Strong GIS experience related to transportation, including areas such as:
- Port and maritime planning
- Environmental compliance
- Port engineering and operations
- Maritime inter-agency coordination (e.g., MARAD, Coast Guard, Army Corps of Engineers)
- Port asset and maintenance management systems
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate, inspire, and achieve strategic goals.
- In-depth knowledge of workflows, challenges, and opportunities for improvement using GIS in the ports and maritime domain.
- Experience leading industry strategy, business development, and marketing programs, including:
- Creating and managing influence plans
- Monitoring and reporting results
- Coordinating integrated execution teams
- Managing budgets
- Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Engineering, Public Administration, Business Administration, GIS, or a related field.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
