Product Engineer - Geospatial Data Science - GeoAI

Esri is hiring a Product Engineer - Geospatial Data Science - GeoAI for its R&D Center in New Delhi, India. The role focuses on testing, validating, documenting, and supporting geospatial AI tools, APIs, SDKs, and pretrained models used in ArcGIS and related geospatial workflows.

**About the Role:**

The Product Engineer will help ensure the quality and usability of geospatial AI tools, models, and libraries. The role includes test planning, automation, model and software validation, troubleshooting customer issues, documenting technical workflows, and collaborating with data scientists and engineers on product releases.

**Responsibilities:**

- Develop and implement test plans and test cases.
- Write test code and verify code changes and bug fixes.
- Review and analyze test results and report on software quality and stability.
- Test and certify software, SDK, and AI model quality.
- Troubleshoot and triage customer issues.
- Analyze user feedback to identify areas for product improvement.
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers on testing, documentation, and release of tools, APIs, and pretrained models.
- Develop samples, tutorials, documentation, blog posts, and product presentations.
- Develop pretrained geospatial AI models for imagery, 3D datasets, and text.

**Requirements:**

- 2 to 8 years of industry experience in software development or QA, preferably in product-based or geospatial consulting companies.
- Hands-on experience in QA processes, test plans, test automation, and product certification.
- Proficiency in Python and Jupyter notebooks.
- Experience with GIS libraries such as GDAL, Rasterio, or ArcPy.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Pytest.
- Understanding of GIS concepts, spatial data, and geospatial workflows.
- Basic understanding of machine learning and deep learning workflows.
- Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.
- Technical writing experience including tutorials, blog posts, and documentation.
- Bachelor''s degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
- Existing work authorization for India is required.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Master''s degree in a relevant field.
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
- Experience with ArcGIS products or open-source GIS software.
- Experience with remote sensing, satellite imagery, and multispectral image analysis.
