Texas A&M University (GCOOS – Gulf of Mexico Coastal Ocean Observing System) is hiring a Research Specialist I to serve as GIS Administrator in support of marine geospatial infrastructure and NOAA data services.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage ArcGIS Enterprise + ArcGIS Online for GCOOS teams and stakeholders.
- Automate 1,000+ services using Python and scripts for ERDDAP + real-time data.
- Administer Windows Server + IIS environments, and troubleshoot map services.
- Design marine-focused spatial dashboards and GIS applications.
- Coordinate with internal research staff, legal, and public users.
- Contribute to proposal writing and spatial data outreach.
- Maintain documentation of workflows, data lineage, and integration pipelines.

**Required:**
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, or related field.
- 4+ years’ experience with GIS technologies, system administration, and Python.

**Preferred:**
- Familiarity with NOAA datasets, ERDDAP, oceanography, marine geospatial workflows.
- Knowledge of ArcGIS full stack, IIS deployments, and open data sharing protocols.
