Raster Layer as Basemaps and Layers Control - WebGIS Dashboard
This is the ninth one of our complete series Displaying and Analyzing GIS Data on Dashboards, Developments, and Programs. This episode distills more detailed information about the raster layers in the WebGIS, in which we apply Google Satellite Maps as our base map tab of the Dashboard.
Satellite images make up the ‘raster layer’ type and they are very important in providing a form of basis for coming up with an interpretation of raw data. We base our maps on Google Satellite Maps but enrich the geography of the represented in the dashboard many times
Thus, in this article, we are going to introduce each step into how to smoothly integrate Google Satellite Maps for WebGIS Dashboard — accomplished in Leaflet. We will cover working from setting up the dependencies to the process of initialising a leaflet map instance.
We shall also describe layer control which may be used for an efficient raster switching between different layers. IM users can change the appearance of the map or choose different basemaps overlying layer with ease and within a short time.
When finishes this tutorial, the users will be able to add Google Satellite Maps as a base map in the WebGIS Dashboard using Leaflet-. Whether you are enthusiastic GIS lover, developer or simple data analyst reading this text this course will be interesting for you and everybody will learn how to create powerful geospatial visualizations using the power of d3. js.
In the future articles we will be sticking with the topic and continue fooling around with Leaflet and improving our WebGIS Dashboard. Together let us turn the lights on on geospatial data visualization!
